Bali: Children’s Art & Storytelling

Allen Ginsberg Library

Wednesday, February 23rd 6-7pm

While studying abroad during the Fall of 2010 in Indonesia, Naropa undergraduate Jack Tardie decided to combine her love and passion for working with children, art, and books to construct a project that would bring all the proceeds back to the community. She and the young female artists of the Seniwati Gallery in Ubud, Bali created a book expressing their culture through the mediums of visual art and storytelling.

There was so much she learned through this experience - how to construct a non-profit project, the process of publishing a book, the differences between art education and "seeing" in the East and West, and so much more. The library is proud to help her share with her own community here in Boulder and at Naropa.

Please join us on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in the Allen Ginsberg Library from 6pm-7pm for a presentation of the book. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book will be available for viewing and purchase ($10 each). All proceeds of book sales go to the Seniwati Sanggar Muda School.
