CLOSING INFORMATION
IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION #1
Each and every resident must sign up to check-out with their RA by Monday May 2nd at 5pm. Everyone must be moved out of their apartment by May 7th at noon (Open-housing students are excluded from this entire thing).
If you live in 201, 205, 301, 303, 307, 309, 313, 315 you must sign up with Ebony.
If you live in 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 212 or the laundry room you must sign up with Andy.
If you live in 202, 204, 206, 208, 302, 304, 306, 308, 312, 314 you must sign up with Ingrid.
If your RA is unavailable when you want to sign-up please talk to the RHD to sign-up before Tuesday. In order to check-out you must be completely moved out of the apartment and have everything cleaned. If you are not ready or miss your check-out time you will be charged for an improper check-out. Plan to check-out during your thirty minutes at Snow Lion. Everyone must check-out.
IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION #2
Normal wear and tear is expected in the apartments. Staff will inspect your apartments and not e what facilities needs to repair and or replace for next year. During this time any damages to the apartment will be noted as well. If an individual claims responsibility for a damage they will be charged; if they do not, the cost will be distributed among all roommates. Staff does not determine charges for damages. This is done by facilities. Even if a well intentioned RA says “No, I don’t think you’ll get charged for that,” facilities staff may make a liar out of them.
To avoid being charged, please follow the checklist you will be receiving early next week. Get all of your belongings out, get everything clean, like ready-for-a-new-person-and-their-wary-parents-to-move-in clean, put all the furniture back together and back where it belongs. Don't forget to complete your survey.
IMPORTANT PIECE OF INFORMATION #3
We are all responsible for the community as a whole. Although I truly respect and appreciate each person in the community and don’t expect their to be any problems, the stresses of moving out, combined with the joys having just completed an incredible year can influence people to take the easy way out. If debris and belongings begins to accumulate in common areas such as the lobby we will stop check-outs until these areas are cleared. If the building is still celebrating our lives in chalk we will have to stop check-outs until these areas are cleaned. There is no reason any of us should expect another person to clean up after us.
All of this will be gone over in detail at the community meeting Wednesday May 4th, in the courtyard.

High sensitivity is an inherited trait of 15-20% of the population. The highly perceptive individual, HPI, is a conscientious and self-managing person with high integrity. HPI’s tend to be empathic, intuitive, creative, careful and conscientious.
The highly perceptive individual inherited a more finely calibrated nervous systems that allows him/her to notice more in the environment. They tend to pick up on subtle cues, nuance, and contextual meaning. The HPI reflects deeply on everything before acting, process information more thoroughly, detects and understands more precisely whatever data is taken in. The HPI is a natural problem solver. It is important that the HPI understand and appreciate his or her trait, then utilizes these unique gifts professionally and personally.
Coping Skills: Optimizing the creative environment for the HPI is important to optimize productivity, for example, providing full spectrum fluorescent lighting, The HPI is more sensitive to noise, lighting, medication, food additives, effluents in the air, and the moods of others. She can become overwhelmed by large quantities of input. Each has special needs for sanctuary, solitude, adequate sleep, and regeneration.
Through an overview of the trait and an emphasis on coping skills, participants gain an appreciation of the trait and strengths of high sensitivity that will improve how they manage that trait in themselves and how they deal with colleagues with this trait.
This session will:
assess participants for the HPI trait,
provide an overview of the HPI trait,
present specific considerations for coping effectively with
personal practices and vulnerabilities,
professional and social relationships,
the professional environment
demonstrate how the trait is a strength and advantage, and
provide specific practices for self-care and self-management.

Fundraiser for Japan!
Paper Crane Making Event @ El Centro
Please join us this Thursday, April 7 anytime between 10-4 for a drop-in lesson on making paper cranes. For every paper crane made the Besos Family Foundation will contribute $2 to Earthquake/Tsunami relief in Japan!
