Love This Life

I wanted to send out a mass email to the snow lion community informing those about my dear friend, Ali. Ali was in a terrible car accident 2 weeks while driving home Tuscon to Phoenix. Jaws were used extricate her from the car. Another friend of mine Jessica, was ejected from the car in the car seat still buckled. Jessica is alive and doing awesome. Her injuries were very minor. Ali was not so lucky. She has had a large section of her left skull removed to reduce brain swelling. This was very successful. Ali is no longer in a medically induced coma however, she is still in a coma due to brain damage.This week is very crucial to her future. She has made some progress. Although she has had a tracheotomy and is on assisted breathing, she has been breathing 14 breaths on her own per minute. This is how much the average person breaths!! The statistics are discouraging. 20% of people with Ali's injuries can be functional but likely not fully recovered... the other 80% are semi-vegetative or vegetative for life. However, my friend is a very strong girl and i faith she will get through this. She needs lots of prayers, positive thoughts, and love.


Ali gave me this manifesto that she admires when i moved to Colorado,two years ago. It is something i read everyday and take to heart especially in a time like this. I would like to share it with the community to inspire others to appreciate every moment they are alive and well.



LOVE THIS LIFE.....

is about celebrating the moment

and that we're not guaranteed or owed another day

and how cool it is that what we hide

can actually be the fuel towards our glory

and that it's not so bad being proven wrong



LOVE THIS LIFE...

is about welcoming the blind turn

and the possibility that

there's no such thing as coincidence

and that empathy is incredably sexy

and that its never to late to pick up a guitar or a paintbrush

or to make an amend or to make a new friend



LOVE THIS LIFE ...

could be about rekindling a past flame

or igniting a new one

or shapeshifting from a dreamer into a doer

or savouring the caress of a love long gone



LOVE THIS LIFE......

means whatever it is you want it to mean

because



LOVE THIS LIFE.....

is a celebration of you and your path



LOVE THIS LIFE ....

cause it could go at any second.
