Warm up America is an organization where a community can contribute knitted squares for those who may need them.  Evie started this idea to aid those who have lost their homes. Check 'em at www.warmupamerica.org .  Let's us contribute to Haiti.  We will send our squares to the Red Cross, or sell them on Etsy to raise a small donation to send from Snowlion.

Please come at anytime to knit with intentions as poetry is read and art space is shared :).  Materials will be provided, all levels are welcomed.

Asian Taste #2:Qing Tang with Noodle + Ginger Juice

hello people how is your life so far?

many people are sick because of the weird weather

so make sure that you get enough

and have a healthy food such as Qing Tang and ginger juice!!!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Chinese people always have a soup on their dining table almost every meal.

That's because it is very filling and maintain body temperature (I personally don't care as long as is yummy ).

Qing Tang (清汤) is the Chinese name of a clear soup.

You can have it with either rice or noodle.

It can be cooked in many ways, depending on your preference.

The following is my recipe.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Qing Tang with Noodle (1-2 serve)

Qing Tang Ingredients

  1. a package of tofu
  2. 4 cups of water
  3. a cube of broth (veggies, chicken, pork, beef, etc. is fine)
  4. salt
  5. pepper/black pepper
  6. soy sauce
  7. 1 package of dried shiitake mushroom (fresh one is good too but way more expensive)
Noodle and Dressing Ingredients
  1. noodle of your choice
  2. Green onion
  3. a half package of beansprout
  4. chili powder
  5. 1 - 2 limes
  6. olive oil/vegetable oil
  7. a cup of minced garlic
How to: Qing Tang
  1. boil water in a pot.
  2. while waiting for water to be boiled, cut tofu into small cubes.
  3. clean dried shiitake mushroom by quick showering (don't sit it in water) and squeezing water out from the mushroom.
  4. slice the mushroom.
  5. add a cube of broth boiled water and stir.
  6. add the mushroom and tofu and decrease a stove to medium high
  7. add salt and soy sauce and incompletely put the lid on the pot.
  8. it will take around 10-15 minutes to be cooked
While you wait . . . boil water in another big pot for noodle and heat a pan, using a medium heat

How to: Noddle and Dressing
  1. slice green onion, throwing away only its root and put it in a small bowl.
  2. squeeze lime juice in another small bowl.
  3. when water is boiled, add beansprout in and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  4. take out only beansprout and save the water for the noodle of your choice.
  5. cook the noodle, following an instruction on its label.
  6. while waiting for the noodle, add veggie/olive oil in the heated pan.
  7. when the oil is hot, add minced garlic and fried until the garlic turns gold
To eat:
  1. mix noodle, lime juice, fried garlic, chili power, green onion, and beansprout in a bowl.
  2. add the soup and stir.
  3. add more flavor of your taste

Ginger Juice
Ingredients
  1. some gingers, depending on how spicy you want it to be
  2. 4 cups of water

How To:
  1. boil water in a pot
  2. clean and smash gingers
  3. when the water is boiled, add gingers, decrease the stove to low and let it sit for 10 minutes
